DSIP is a synthetic nonapeptide, first isolated in the 1970s from the cerebral venous blood of rabbits and known in the literature as delta sleep-inducing peptide. Supplied lyophilised for in-vitro and laboratory research.
The published literature examines DSIP largely within animal-model studies of electroencephalographic delta-wave activity and neuroendocrine signalling. Its mechanism of action remains incompletely characterised.
